Fabrics in Studio

DESCRIPTION

An artistic studio session focused on movement, fabric, and creative lighting.

Dancers will have a large variety of fabric colors to choose from and use to create flowing, dynamic images. We’ll experiment with different lighting techniques and optional color gels to create a variety of moods and effects.

Half of the session will be photographed on a white backdrop, with the other half on a black backdrop, giving you two completely different looks within one session.

No Additional Fees.

Optional: You may choose to hire a professional hair and/or makeup artist for your session. This is completely optional and comes with an additional fee paid directly to the hair and makeup artist.

ATTIRE, SHOES, HAIR, MAKEUP & ACCESSORIES

Attire:  Anything goes! I recommend fitted outfits such as leotards, two-piece dance outfits, briefs/shorties with a crop top, or similar styles that allow the fabric and movement to be the focus.

Black, white, or colorful outfits all work well. I have a large variety of fabric colors available, so we can mix and match to complement your outfit.

Shoes:  Barefoot is recommended. Pointe shoes are also an option for dancers who are strongly trained in pointe, as the studio flooring is slick.

Hair & Makeup:  Hair and makeup are completely up to you. Professional hair and/or makeup is optional.

CREATIVE DIRECTION

This session is all about movement and creativity. We’ll experiment with different ways to hold, wrap, toss, stretch, and move with the fabric to create shapes and images that feel artistic and dynamic.

You won’t be limited to traditional dance poses. We’ll play with movement, angles, fabric, lighting, and color to create images that are unique to you.
