Earthbound

DESCRIPTION
An artistic, fine-art-inspired session built around earthy tones, natural beauty, and the artistry of movement.
Dancers will be photographed against a warm brown backdrop using soft, creative lighting designed to sculpt the body, highlight movement, and create depth within each image. Rich earth tones, subtle textures, and dramatic shadows will give this session a timeless, refined feel.
This is a session where simplicity makes a statement. The focus is on beautiful lines, movement, shapes, and the dancer themselves.

ATTIRE, SHOES, HAIR, MAKEUP & ACCESSORIES
Unlimited outfits within the time frame allowed. For a one-hour shoot, no more than 3 outfits is recommended to allow plenty of photographing time.
Keep your wardrobe simple, elegant, and earthy. Think shades of brown, tan, cream, beige, rust, olive, sage, terracotta, and other muted natural tones.
Leotards, crop tops, flowy skirts, simple dancewear, fitted pants, dresses, and pieces with beautiful texture or movement all work well.
Shoes can include barefoot, ballet slippers, pointe shoes, or other footwear that complements your look.
Hair should remain relatively natural and clean — sleek buns, soft waves, loose hair, braids, or simple pulled-back styles all work beautifully.
Makeup can be natural and soft or slightly more dramatic, using warm, earthy tones.
Keep accessories minimal. Delicate jewelry, simple headpieces, or subtle natural elements can be incorporated, but the dancer and the movement should remain the focus.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
This session is all about shape, movement, emotion, and light.
We’ll use creative lighting, shadows, angles, and posing to sculpt each image and create a true fine-art feel. Expect a combination of graceful dance poses, strong shapes, movement, floor work, extensions, and artistic portraiture.
Think museum-worthy dance portraits with an earthy, modern feel.
The goal is to create images that feel timeless, artistic, and completely different from a traditional dance portrait.
